Assignments for the week of May 20 - May 24
*The main homework is to read for 20 minutes Monday through Thursday. Students are encouraged to read as many books as they can throughout the year. There are rewards (including extra credit) for reading offered throughout the year. One-million-word readers are also invited to the 8th grade awards ceremony at the end of the year. Students are required to read at least two books each quarter and take a Reading Counts test for each book read. (Enriched students must read three books each quarter.) The next RC testing day will be June 3 and it will be on the book Rules which we are reading in class.

FRIDAY Warm-up; Read ten pages (41-50) of Rules and have a class discussion; Learn about the I vs. me rule - possible quiz. In groups, add elaboration to the notes your group already has. We will have a full class discussion Monday for a grade using these notes. HOMEWORK: The RC test is Monday.
