English 7 is aligned with the California Department of Education (CDE) English Language arts Standards (ELA), California Common Core State Standards, and Wm. S. Hart UHSD instructional methodologies. The focus is on reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. Our adopted English text materials entitled Collections are designed to provide students the tools needed to succeed in the classroom and beyond. Collections also offers digital components -- media resources which enrich the informational and literary texts, and interactive lessons that provide models, feedback, and practice for speaking, listening, and writing. Read your Reading Counts novel each evening in order to be prepared for the computer-generated test on September 10th.
Begin working on the Reading Response Log distributed on August 27th. Response #1 is due Wednesday, August 29th, Response #5 is due Friday, August 31st. The remaining two responses are due September 11th.

Work on completing a Coggle for each root that includes the 3 root word for each.
Remember, save it AFTER IT'S COMPLETED as a pdf.file in the vocabulary folder you've created in Googledocs. You can only keep 3 mindmaps on Coogle for free, so you'll have to save them as a pdf and keep in them in your Googledoc account.
