Naviance helps students prepare for life after high school. Your child will be using Naviance to discover their individual learning styles and strengths. Explore careers and job requirements using student inventories that match their interests. Search for college programs based on their interests and goals. Help determine what courses they need to take to apply for specific college programs , work on resumes, and set realistic future goals.
Students in 7th grade will take a Learning Style Inventory to get to know their learning style, by using the information gained about how their environment and learning styles combine they are given useful study tips and suggestions to work with. They will also explore their dominant personality types through the c career key and explore career fields that match their personality.
Students in 8th grade use Naviance to explore their personal strengths as individuals and link those strengths to different career sectors, eventually narrowing their focus to research a particular job or career. In the Spring they begin planning for high school and create their 9th grade high school plan. Students are also exposed to a video outlining their options both in high school and beyond.
Career pathways offer students a unique opportunity to explore their interests in a specific career area while in high school. Students explore their interests by taking classes that directly connect your child’s interests from high school to college and/or career options.
