8th Grade English

In 8th grade English this year, we will be following the Common Core standards.  Each quarter there will be a writing project of some kind.  Each quarter has a general focus around which plans are developed.  Quarter One revolves around the narrative or story process; Quarter Two focuses on research skills; Quarter Three combines research skills with argumentative skills; and Quarter Four focuses on oral communication skills. Students are required to read two novels each quarter and take an SRC test for each novel.  Please see my course orientation for more details.
