School Climate Survey in Google Classroom

School Climate Survey

The student survey you are about to take is one of the ways our district gathers student input on the climate of our schools.  Please read each question carefully and answer honestly, knowing that your responses are completely anonymous and will be used to paint a picture of your school’s culture from the students’ perspective.  The information learned from these surveys will be used to guide planning at your school and in the District.  This survey is meant to give you a voice in that planning - please use it well.

The survey contains 35 questions and should take you no more than 15 minutes to complete.  Survey questions will require that you give a single response, multiple responses, or a single weighted response.

Please remember to “Submit” your survey when you are finished. When you click on the link to open the survey, it may take 5 – 10 seconds to load, please be patient.  If there are no questions, let me guide you to the survey link.

Articles of Confederation, It's Weaknesses (problems), and Shay's Rebellion in Google Classroom

Articles of Confederation, It's Weaknesses (problems), and Shay's Rebellion

The Continental Congress adopted the Articles of Confederation, the first constitution (plan of government) of the United States, on November 15, 1777. However, ratification (which means approval) of the Articles of Confederation by all thirteen states did not occur until March 1, 1781. The Articles created a loose confederation of sovereign (Independent) states and a weak central government, leaving most of the power with the state governments. The need for a stronger Federal government soon became apparent and eventually led to the Constitutional Convention in 1787. The present United States Constitution replaced the Articles of Confederation on March 4, 1789.
You will be learning more in depth about the Articles, its' weaknesses and how it led to a Constitutional Convention. You will work in class in your student groups and create and present your own Articles.
Lastly, we will overview our learning by watching a Brain Pop video (Login in: svhsd, Password: sv) and seeing how this transitions into inviting state delegates to a Constitutional Convention.
I have also included a Khan Academy video on the Weaknesses in the Articles and the occurrence of Shay's Rebellion to reference for this assignment. We will watch this video together in class.
