Parent Volunteers

 

Here at SV, the teachers, administrators, and parents work together to improve the education and well-being of all students.  Our volunteer program not only provides a necessary base of support for our school, but it also enriches the lives of our students by taking an active role in their education. Your students enjoy having you on and around campus. 

 

SV has many opportunities for you to volunteer your time.  Some are date specific, others are on an as needed basis, and some are ongoing.  Some activities are all day but please don't let that deter you from volunteering.  We all understand time constraints and will work you in shifts.

 

This is SV's largest fundraiser!  Parents volunteer to help collect and record all orders and monies received.

 

 PAC hosts special morning breakfasts for SV staff during the Staff Appreciation Week at the beginning of May.  We are so grateful for the various food, drink and special treat donations from parents.  A committee of parent volunteers works to set up and serve this event.

 

Twice per month you will collect items from the Lost & Found and display them during lunch so that students can come to a designated area to retrieve their belongings.  Any items left behind will be donated to Goodwill each month.

 

It's time to kick off the Box Tops collection drive for this school year.  With budget cuts, it's more important than ever to use every possible way to raise funds for SV.  Box Tops are one of the easiest ways to accomplish this.

 

When grocery shopping, look for products that carry the Box Top symbol.  Look through your pantry and see if you have products that display Box Tops.  Clip, write your student's first and last name, as well as the team name on the back of the Box Top and place in an envelope or Ziploc bag and send in with your student.  Collection bins are in each team leaders' classrooms.

 

There are monthly drawings and winners receive a gift certificate.  At the end of the year, the team with the most Box Tops turned in will enjoy a pizza party.
