This page will have information about auditions, rehearsals and performances for students who are involved in the school play, " Alienated" by Kenneth Preuss. Here is the synopsis of the play:Seventeen-year old Cammie gathers 24 members of her high school senior class at school one evening to solve the mystery of a bright light that appears on this precise day once every six years. Cammie’s uncle always believed that one of these students is an alien and that the light is a form of communication. Knowing the beacon will shine in just a few minutes, Cammie is bound and determined to identify the alien among them. Could it be the diva? The jock? The slacker? The clumsy band geek? As they all point fingers at one another, it seems each is both the accuser and the accused. No doubt, everyone has something weird to hide. Are these strange and unique characteristics truly alien or just part of being a teenager? The surprise ending will leave you with goosebumps in this delightful, well-written character piece.
The play will be performed on Thursday, May 19th. Actors should be on stage ready to perform by 5:15pm. Doors open to the audience at 5:40pm. The play will begin at 6pm.

The last two rehearsals have had 8 characters missing. Each rehearsal before with full cast has NEVER had all members present. If you want to actually have a complete show on May 19th, we have to have all characters present at rehearsal every time.

There were 4 characters missing at today's practice. Because one character dropped the play over the last two weeks, we were planning on having a student/ stage manager actually read her his/her lines and do the best she could to help us be able to put the show up. She was more than willing, and I believe, capable to do so. I left it up to the students who were in attendance to decide whether or not we do the play, as the commitment level from some has been low and attendance level even lower.
The students voted and it was unanimous we not do the show. ( (16 to 5)
I truly believe it had nothing to do with the replacement situation, but everything to do with the students not being ready due to missing so many rehearsals. There were only 3 students out of 25 that had never missed a rehearsal, and only 5 that had missed 2 or fewer. Most everyone had missed 3 or more rehearsals which amounts to missing blocking, acting and understanding of half of the play. Some students have missed over 8 days, which amounts to missing the WHOLE play being practiced. We have only been able to run through the play twice.
Thank you to all of the parents that instructed their children about the importance of a commitment and followed through allowing them to make rehearsals. Thank you to the students who have committed their time after school, along with me, to work on the play. There will be a production of
of some sort on May 19th at 6pm. More news to follow.

Special treat! A real working actress wants us to be part of a documentary! Be in the MPR after school for a once in a lifetime opportunity! Today you will be given permission forms that must be signed and returned to me by Thursday at play practice. Without this form, you will not be allowed to be filmed on Friday during D period. I also have a slip for you to give your C period teacher to get out 5 minutes early to head to the MPR for filming.
