SV Library Wins $2,300. Lowe's Toolbox for Education Grant

The Sierra Vista JHS Library has received a $2,300 Lowe’s Toolbox for Education grant for adding a cell phone charging station for students, laptop tables in their silent work area, and additional Makerspace kits. The 7th and 8th grade students will enjoy the opportunity to participate in even more fun, hands-on science activities during the SV Library’s Makerspace Tuesdays at lunch. Plus students will be encouraged to visit the library more often with the availability of the cell phone charging station, and tables in the silent work area. We are grateful to Lowe's for providing these items for our school library.

Plainsmen Foundation Family Restaurant Night

The Plainsmen Foundation’s is an organization whose sole purpose is to promote excellence in education by providing funds to empower the students and staff at Sierra Vista Junior High, by providing essential materials for academic needs like calculators, lab materials, books, web based learning support, band and PE equipment, art and culinary supplies, tech and engineering materials, and much more! We will be holding our first restaurant night on May 22nd at Dickys BBQ pit at 18742 Soledad Rd if you print and show the flyer 20% of your order will go to the plainsmen foundation. Scholastic Book Fair at our SV Library

Please support our library's Scholastic Book Fair fundraiser. It will be during school hours from March 25th to March 29th, and at Open House. Students come join us in room 802 at lunch for a special talk from local Veterinarian Dr. Rachel Sachar. She will share about her exciting career working with animals. How she chose her profession, what skills she uses and some of the exciting things she gets to do each day. If you are interested in working with animals or have a love for them.
