Minimum Day Added: Friday, October 29th

Due to the number of students placed in quarantine since August 10th, the District is providing a minimum day on October 29th to be designated as teacher work time for the purpose of completing any documentation associated with the short term independent study agreements. Dismissal will be at 12:05pm on Friday, October 29th.

PAC & Family Resource Literacy Workshop 10/19/21

You are invited to attend our next PAC/Family Resource Program Exploration Night regarding Literacy on Tuesday, October 19, 2021. It will be held online via Google Meets from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.

Our principal, Marcus Garrett, will share the latest Sierra Vista news. Then, two of our English teachers will share information about English standards including those related to reading and writing in junior high. We will also introduce you to our new i-Ready literacy program that is being used throughout Hart District to assist students in building their reading skills. And finally, we will play an online game with your family!

5 Star Points and Prizes

You can check your 5 Star account to check points and view prizes on our school website. Look under the Students tab, click on 5 Star Students, and sign in with your school email. 5 Star Prizes will be distributed on Fridays at lunch beginning on Friday, October 8th!

Hollywood Social Information

The Hollywood Social is Friday, October 1st, from 3 -5 pm. Students cannot leave early for safety reasons. Students will not be permitted into the event after 3:15, so they should NOT leave campus after school if they're attending the event. Please look over the attached information for more details.

PAC and Family Resource Program "Succeed in Math" Online Workshop

All SV Families are invited to join us online for this virtual meeting and workshop using Google Meets on Tuesday, September 21st from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Our principal, Marcus Garrett, will start off the evening with general updates about Sierra Vista. Then the focus of the workshop will be presented by two of our math teachers, Ms. Kathlee Coleman and Ms. Tracy Stanhope. Their presentation will cover: “How to Succeed in your Math Class” with strategies and guidance to help all students to be successful in their math classes. Plus your family will have a chance to play fun math games that are used in class!

"Let's Do This!" - Fundraiser

In this awesome fundraiser, students collect donations to help our school earn money for amazing activities and school events like: student recognition programs, dances, color run, brunch/lunch/team activities, clubs, talent show, intramural sports...and everything else that makes a child’s school experience unforgettable! Students can earn awesome prizes and an opportunity to have a blast in our “Party-N-Play Day!” So please help our school by participating and donating, and HAVE FUN!

Make-up Picture Day: Tuesday, September 14th

If your student would like to retake their school yearbook photo, please have them report to the 201 before school or during brunch on Tuesday, September 14th.

For those students, that did not take their yearbook photo during Summer Check-in, a student summon will be delivered to your student's class during Period 2, 3, 4 or 5 on Tuesday, September 14th.
