The purpose of the society is to provide those students who excel academically an opportunity to perform community service and participate in worthwhile activities. Membership in the Sierra Vista Honor Society is held in high esteem, and our staff encourages all eligible students to join. *Remember: Students must apply for the CJSF Honor Society each semester, and you can only receive Honor Member status for Junior high if you join Honor Society ALL 3 semesters at Sierra Vista.
 
  Sierra Vista Jr. High School is a charter member of the California Junior Scholarship Federation (CJSF). Students, who achieve at least 16 grade points as described below in their 4 academic classes (math, English, social studies, and science), are eligible to join this Honor Society each semester.  Disciplinary issues, failing grades and "D"s are not allowed, even if they are in the P.E. or elective class.
 
To become a member, students must:

1. Obtain at least 16 grade points in the 4 academic classes, using the 7th grade, Spring Semester grades.
An "A" is valued at 3 points, a "B" is 1 point, and a "C" is 0 points.
 
2. Complete this Membership Application (Fall 2025 Application LINK) and submit it by 3 pm. on FRIDAY AUG. 29, 2025.

3. A minimum of 10 hours of community service is required.  Students should turn in a completed Honor Society Time Sheet or provide their own service hour records to Mr. Marsh. 10 hrs of Community Service are due on Friday, November 21, 2025!  Stop by room #106 to get a time sheet &/or you can print it from the link provided!! 
 
4. Charter Dues of $5.00 need to be submitted no later than Friday 9/19/25 at the ASB desk in the main office.
