Hello Sierra Vista eighth grade families! You have the opportunity to send your child a special message that will last forever in the Sierra Vista Yearbook. Give words of encouragement, a special recognition, inspirational words, or just something sweet for your student. Additionally, you can choose a photo of your student to go with your message. The tribute with be ⅛ of a page in size, and is only $20 to purchase.

Penny Wars (Pennies for Patients) Fundraiser

Our annual “Pennies for Patients” charity drive, also known as “Penny Wars,” that donates funds to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in an effort to find a cure for blood cancers has begun. Your child received a donation box and handout with more information on how to donate to this worthy cause on 1/23. This is a team competition involving the amount of funds raised per student on each team. Your support and donations are greatly appreciated to this philanthropic cause. ACADEMY OF THE CANYONS

You can be a part of a unique, rewarding high school experience, earn college credits, and get a jump start on your future. If you would like to learn more about Academy of the Canyons Middle College High School, you and your parents are invited to attend an information meeting on Tuesday, January 29th in the Canyon High School Performing Arts Center at 6:30 p.m. OR on Wednesday, January 30th in the West Ranch High School Theater 6:30 p.m.

Tech Night -Family Resource Program and PAC

Please join us to learn about the free and valuable electronic resources that our school provides. You and your student will be using a Chromebook as we discuss social media trends, how to use our school’s online resources for homework, and setting up your own online accounts to view educational videos, games, and more that you can use with all of your family. Principal Carolyn Hoffman will also share the latest Sierra Vista JHS news. The entire family is welcome to attend.

If you lost something, be sure to stop by the Lost and Found tables in the quad area. We have many water bottles, jackets and lunch boxes that might be yours! Anything not claimed will be donated to charity.

Optimist Club Donates $500 to SV Library

The Sierra Vista Library is pleased to have received a $500.00 donation from the Canyon Country Optimist Club on November 14, 2018. Lorraine Fulleman, teacher librarian of Sierra Vista Jr. High, was invited to do a book talk at the Optimist’s club meeting. She chose the hi/lo book, “Faces in the Flames: a Ghost Story” by her husband and Hart District substitute teacher, Ron Fulleman. Optimist Club president, Vivian Lawrence, surprised Fulleman with this donation for purchasing more hi/lo books for the SV Library to encourage reading.
